FIRST APPOINTMENT

  If you have never been to therapy before, it is easy to feel a little intimidated by the process. Many people are afraid to face the fears that keep them stuck--afraid that they will not be able to overcome negative beliefs about themselves and about life, or afraid to make necessary changes. My clients routinely tell me how much better they feel when they face these fears and find solutions in the context of a supportive and structured therapeutic relationship.

     Because I have worked with many clients from diverse backgrounds, I have developed a wide variety of techniques to move you forward. Sometimes we may just talk about what's bothering you, sometimes I may teach you new ways to handle stress, and sometimes I may give you some assignments to do before our next session. Depending on what works for you, we may also follow a structured, research-based approach for relieving your symptoms. If you have questions about the specific modalities that I offer, please just ask me.

FEES

     I offer a free 30 minute initial consultation so that you can ask questions about the counseling process, or just see if my personality and therapy style will work for you. This consultation can happen over the telephone or in person. From there, most sessions are 50 minutes in duration and cost $120. I do offer extended sessions which last 90 minutes and cost $180. You are expected to pay the fee in full at the time of service. If you would like to submit a claim to your insurance company for reimbursement, I will provide you with a receipt that includes all the required codes and information. The full fee will be charged for a missed appointment without one business day's notice.

    Are you concerned about the cost of therapy? I am now able to offer a sliding scale on a limited basis. So, if you are serious about creating the life you want to live, do not let finances stand in your way! Just let me know that you need help.

You may click on the link provided here to print out the paperwork for your first appointment. Please complete it and bring it with you to our scheduled meeting. Of course, I have these documents at my office if you forget to bring them along, or if you prefer to fill them out when you arrive.
